4 Months to go...

Well, I am not quite the expert blogger yet and frequently forget to put new things up..This has been a busy summer full of weddings, the start of PT school, Matt traveling with his job, and traveling back and forth from Indiana to Louisville to visit each other. It has been fun, but rather exhausting!!

Matt is loving Louisville, and we are trying to explore the city as much as we can. We have checked out the Louisville Zoo, the Slugger Museum, several Louisville Bats Baseball games (AAA team of the Cincinnati Reds), and dined in lots of restaurants. Matt has a good sense of direction here and lives in a great location! His apartment is so close to some very neat and busy areas of the city. I love to come visit!

I have been on a break from PT school since August 6th and head back on the 25th. In my down time, I have been able to spend a lot of time with Matt :) It has been so great not studying all night long and actually be able to cook and watch TV!! I feel like I haven't been in the sun at all this summer due to school, so I am ready to soak it up until fall! We are headed to Indiana this weekend for Jake's first senior football game and Matt's cousin Sara's wedding in Newburgh. Can't wait to see family!

As soon as we got Matt moved in, it was time for the Kentucky Derby! And this city goes CRAZY for weeks of celebration. We went to experience a Louisville Bats Minor League baseball game and Thunder Over Louisville. We had a blast, and saw the most amazing fireworks display ever, which was the ending to a fantastic day filled with the beer garden or "Chow Wagon" experience, concert on the riverfront, a baseball game with record fast balls, an air show courtesy of the U.S. military, and fireworks on the river.

Big Move..

Most of you already know that Matt got a new job, but things are moving very fast! He had his last day at Wells Fargo on April 1st, and the search for a Louisville home began immediately. Last Saturday, Matt and I and his parents spent the day in Louisville looking for a suitable apartment. After going back Monday for a second look, we have found what is Matt's and what will be "our" first apartment as a married couple. It is a cute 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment full of character on the east side of Louisville. CED (Consolidated Electrical Distributors) wants him to start next Wednesday, so the move begins on Friday (as long as the apartment gets cleaned from the last tenant by then). We are so excited! Thank you for all your support and prayers! We are so lucky to have such amazing families to support us in our new journey.

Our nephew has arrived!

Tucker Adam Hess was born last night! After much anticipation, my sister Nicole and her husband Adam gave birth to their first son last night at 5:24. We have been guessing baby names for months, but Nicole and Adam insisted on keeping everyone on their toes!! The handsome little man is here and we cannot wait to meet him in person...With them living in Houston, I won't get to go until May. My sister Jenn and I are heading out on the 8th and we are gonna love on him and spoil him all weekend! Little Tucker isn't gonna know what hit him .... Lucky boy!

10 Day Getaway

Matt and I have been planning a trip to the south for quite some time... We took several days off of work and left March 5. Six states and 12 hours later, we arrived in Lafayette, LA to visit Matt's brother Daniel. We hadn't seen him since Christmas so we were all so excited! Daniel is playing baseball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the Ragin' Cajuns. We had a fun weekend watching baseball in the sunshine and visiting with Daniel.

Monday morning we headed west to Katy, TX to visit my expectant sister Nicole and her husband Adam. Matt had never been to their house, so we had a relaxing week filled with all kinds of excitement. For one, the weather was warm in Katy. We cooked and went out to eat a LOT! Matt had a new best friend for the week: Nicole and Adam's pug, Bentley. They played alllll week long! We went to the aquarium in downtown Houston one day and of course, did a little shopping. Thursday night we went to the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show for some great entertainment, followed by a Brad Paisley concert. Needless to say, we had a GREAT time!! (Although at 37 weeks, I was hoping Nicole would have my nephew while we were there...)

At the end of the week, we headed back to Lafayette for another weekend of baseball. This time, Matt's parents John and Doris and his younger brother Tyler were there too! It was really fun to spend the weekend with my entire future family :) We got a little taste of the Cajun food traditions and crazy fans while we tailgated with the "Cajun Tails Tailgating Club" before the games. We had Jambalya, a roasted hog, beef brisket, corn bread, and some other southern side dishes. DELICIOUS! I was glad that they like to eat down there!

The best part of the vacation was Matt and I getting to spend 10 whole days together with no work or stress! I'm ready for the next vacation now...

Working on the Details..

Summer is almost over and finally slowing down, so Matt and I have been able to work on some wedding details. We will be having the ceremony and reception at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, IN. We've chosen our wedding party and worked on some other minor details. And, I have begun the wedding dress search! :) Mom, Jenn, and a couple of friends went with me on Friday and I may have found 'the one!' Lyndsey and I are going again on Tuesday and I hope I know then! The planning gets more and more exciting EVERY DAY!!

The planning has begun...

With vacation and Matt's surgery, we postponed wedding planning a couple of weeks, but now we are in full swing! We are going to the church tomorrow to sign a contract and are still debating on which reception hall will lead to the best celebration... Hopefully we will seal the deal for a hall next week.
My sisters and Mom went shopping with me last Friday and we picked out a bridesmaid dress. I was so excited! Matt is super excited because we have chosen "horizon" as our wedding color which is a royal blue! If you didn't know, that's his FAVORITE color! I even got to try on some wedding dresses on Friday! :) It was so much fun and I am ready for another day of dress shopping.
